Commercial Director
Job Summary
The Commercial Director is responsible for leading the commercial strategy, contract management, and procurement activities supporting large-scale facilities management operations within a complex, high-demand environment.
The role ensures effective commercial governance, contract performance, supplier management, and financial oversight, while delivering best value through procurement and supply chain management aligned with operational and client service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
Lead the commercial and procurement strategy for facilities management services.
Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
Manage commercial risks, contractual obligations, and financial performance of FM contracts.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Lead and develop the commercial and contracting teams.
Contract Management
Oversee the development and management of service contracts, SLAs, and KPIs.
Ensure service providers deliver against contractual financial, quality, and operational targets.
Manage the full contract lifecycle including tendering, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
Support operational teams with commercial advice and contract interpretation.
Procurement & Supply Chain
Lead sourcing strategies and procurement planning for facilities management services.
Oversee tendering processes, bid evaluations, and supplier selection.
Ensure procurement activities deliver value, cost efficiency, and service quality.
Maintain compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks.
Financial Management
Manage contract financial performance, forecasting, and budget monitoring.
Work with finance teams to track financial performance and reporting.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value improvement.
Monitor contract budgets and manage commercial risks.
Supplier Performance Management
Develop supplier performance frameworks including KPIs and SLAs.
Monitor contractor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement improvement initiatives.
Ensure service delivery meets operational and client expectations in a high-demand environment.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management, Procurement, Contract Management, Facilities Management, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial, contract management, or procurement leadership roles.
Experience managing large, multi-service contracts or facilities management portfolios.
Experience in complex operational environments such as large infrastructure, mixed-use developments, or high-footfall assets preferred.
