Technical Document Engineer
Job Purpose:
To drive value from physical assets across the facilities portfolio by implementing robust asset management practices, enabling data-driven decision-making, and ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and lifecycle cost optimization. Act as the custodian of all asset related documents and registers.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a comprehensive asset register for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Track assets from acquisition through operation, maintenance, and disposal
Ensure accurate documentation of asset specifications, warranties, and service history
Plan, schedule and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs (PPM)
Coordinate with maintenance teams and contractors to ensure timely servicing
Monitor asset condition and recommend repair or replacement strategies
Manage and update asset information in CAFM/CMMS systems
Analyse asset performance data, downtime trends, and failure rates
Generate reports on asset reliability, lifecycle costs, and maintenance KPIs
Assist in budgeting and forecasting for asset maintenance and replacement
Conduct lifecycle cost analysis (LCCA) for key asset categories
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements
Ensure assets comply with safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company standards
Maintain records for audits, inspections, and certifications
Identify asset-related risks and recommend mitigation measures
Implement asset management best practices aligned with ISO 55000
Drive improvements in asset reliability and operational efficiency
Coordinate and execute asset tagging upon taking over new assets or properties.
Ensured updated and detailed asset register and dashboard graphical information is available in the CAFM system
Complete periodic asset conditional assessment.
Schedule walkthroughs and inspections.
Act as the custodian for all asset data and drawings of sites.
Maintain all project files, technical documents, method statements, detailed shop drawings and day-to-day departmental correspondence, to ensure all information is available and up to date.
coordinate with Contractors for receiving handing over documents, Completion certificates, warranty certificates, operations and maintenance manuals etc.
Receive and maintain third party consultants approved shop drawings and as built drawings from Contractors for future reference.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager.
Job Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or facilities management.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in facilities or asset management in the UAE
Certification in Asset Management (e.g., IAM, CAMA, ISO 55001) is a plus MRI, MAXIMO or other CAFM systems
Proficient in Auto CAD, reading technical drawings, O&M Manuals, EXCEL skills
