Job Purpose:
The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of landscape operations on assigned sites, ensuring that soft landscaping, hard landscaping, irrigation, water features and lighting are installed and maintained to the required standards. The role directs and monitors service provider crews, checks work quality on site, keeps within budget, client requirements and government and safety regulations, and reports progress and issues to the Landscape Engineer and Facilities Manager.

Job Responibilities:

Site Supervision and Operations

• Supervise daily landscaping activities on one or more sites, allocating tasks to service provider crews and making sure work is completed on schedule.

• Oversee soft landscaping services: grass, plants, palms, planting mediums, fertilizers and related chemicals.

• Oversee hard landscaping works: pathways, patios, sitting areas, planters, fire pits and rock gardens.

• Supervise irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, sub-surface and semi-automatic), including scheduling, inspection, leak detection and repairs.

• Monitor wooden features (pergolas, gazebos, furniture), garden lighting (spike, ground, bollard, underwater, wall-mounted and fibre optic), water features (fountains, waterfalls, ponds, pools) and artificial turf installation and upkeep.

• Carry out daily site rounds to confirm that preventive and reactive maintenance tasks are performed in line with the agreed scope.
  
  Quality Control and Compliance

• Carry out on-site quality inspections to maintain optimum landscape conditions.

• Inspect plants for pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies and other biological problems, and apply or coordinate the agreed control measures.

• Check materials on delivery and before installation against approved submittals, and report non-conformities to the Landscape Engineer.

• Raise NCRs and JSI-Ts for site work deficiencies and support the preparation of quality reports.

• Verify that service providers comply with contract requirements, specifications and manpower, material and equipment commitments.
  
  Service Provider Management

• Monitor service provider performance and follow up on corrective actions until closure.

• Verify actual work done on site and support the Landscape Engineer in certifying service provider invoices against agreed rates and performance requirements.

• Attend site meetings with contractors and raise site issues to the Landscape Engineer and Facilities Manager.
  
  Client Service and Reporting

• Receive and respond to client complaints and follow up to ensure resolution within the agreed timeframe.

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on progress and deficiencies in landscaping works, irrigation, pest control and park operations.

• Maintain site records, inspection checklists, work logs and photographic evidence.
  
  Projects and Technical Support

• Assist the Landscape Engineer in planning landscaping and irrigation projects, including site measurements, rough sketches, and estimates of manpower, materials and equipment.

• Coordinate with contractors and project engineers on construction and remodelling works, and supervise execution on site.
  
  Health, Safety and Environment

• Apply and enforce safety policies and procedures, including correct use of tools and equipment for land preparation and cultivation, such as trimming, cutting, fertilizing and weed removal.

• Ensure crews wear the required PPE and follow safe practices when handling chemicals, machinery and working in hot weather.

• Promote water conservation, responsible chemical use and proper waste disposal on site.
  
  Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape or a related field from a reputable institution.

  • Valid UAE driving license.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in landscaping practices and procedures, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.

  • Experience on large estates, communities or city landscapes, with knowledge of a wide variety of plants and landscape types.

  • Hands-on experience with irrigation systems and their installation and troubleshooting.
